The default experience is artwork-free
DM Value's core deck-building and table screens use original proxy layouts made from text, colors, symbols, and card-type framing. Official card artwork is not loaded from DM Value servers. Local Asset Mode is optional and is not required for deck import, search, Solo Play, or the online test table.
Keeping the default independent from an image library also makes the public service easier to review and reduces the chance that a missing image blocks a game operation. A proxy can still identify the card through its Japanese name and structured data.
What happens when you select files
Your browser reads the files you explicitly select and tries to associate them with matching cards. Processing occurs in the current browser profile. The selected image bytes are not uploaded to DM Value servers, are not added to the public card catalog, and are not shared with another online player through DM Value.
Browser features differ. Folder selection may be available in some desktop browsers, while a ZIP-based workflow can be more portable. Private-browsing sessions and storage limits can cause local data to disappear sooner than expected.
Prepare a small test batch first
Begin with a few files whose identities are easy to verify. Confirm that they match the expected cards and remain visible after a normal page reload before importing a large folder. This separates a filename or matching problem from a browser storage problem.
- Open Local Asset settings from the signed-in workspace.
- Select a small folder or supported archive containing files you are allowed to use.
- Review matched and unmatched results instead of assuming every file succeeded.
- Open several cards from different sets or faces and verify the displayed match.
- Reload once, then expand the import only if the test batch persists correctly.
Diagnose a missing or wrong image
First confirm that the card itself is the expected catalog entry. Multiple printings, alternate faces, and inconsistent filenames can make an otherwise valid image ambiguous. Next confirm that the file type is supported and that the browser did not block storage because of a private session or quota limit.
Remove a clearly wrong match before retrying. Do not upload the image to a support message. A useful report includes the visible card identifier, the filename pattern without personal folder paths, the browser version, and whether the issue survives a normal reload.
Remove assets and understand the limits
Use the removal controls in Settings when you no longer want local images. Clearing site data for DM Value may also remove stored matches, saved local preferences, and other browser-only information, so review the browser warning before confirming a broad cleanup.
Only select files you have a lawful right to use. Local Asset Mode does not grant permission to redistribute images, does not turn DM Value into a hosting service, and does not make selected files available to the public. Review the Privacy Policy and Terms for the service-level boundaries.
