How proxy display and card data work together

A proxy is an interface, not a reproduction

DM Value uses an original visual system to make cards recognizable on a dense desktop table. Civilization colors, symbols, type-specific frames, Japanese names, costs, power, and compact rules text provide the information needed for deck review and test play. The layout is designed for interaction and does not attempt to reproduce official card artwork or official branding.

Because every table card shares the same interface rules, tap state, face direction, selection, and stack membership remain visible even when the underlying card has an unusual printed design.

Separate identity from current state

Catalog fields describe the card identity: title, civilization, type, cost, race, rules text, power, set information, and supported faces. Table state describes what has happened in this game: owner, controller, zone, tap state, face direction, selected face, mode, stack position, or attachment role.

When something looks wrong, first decide which layer is wrong. A bad cost or missing face suggests a catalog problem. A correct card appearing in the wrong zone or orientation suggests a table-operation problem. Reporting the correct layer speeds up diagnosis.

Read compact proxies deliberately

Start with the name and cost, then the civilization and card-type cues. Use the inspector when the table copy is too small to show the full text. For multi-face or mode-based cards, confirm the active face or mode rather than assuming that the first catalog face represents the current game state.

Japanese card name and set identity match the intended card.
Cost, civilization, and card type agree with the current face.
Power or mode-specific power is shown for the state being tested.
Rules text is complete enough for the decision; otherwise consult an authoritative source.
The table orientation and stack position match the current game state.

Understand data freshness and boundaries

A large card catalog can contain records that were checked at different times. Recently released cards, alternate printings, multi-face identities, and uncommon mechanics are the most likely places to find incomplete classification. A searchable record is not a promise that every card-specific effect is automated.

DM Value may provide source-related identifiers to improve matching and maintenance, but it remains an unofficial service. Confirm current official rules, restrictions, and tournament legality with the appropriate official source or organizer.

Report data without redistributing artwork

For an incorrect record, provide the visible card name or identifier, the field that appears wrong, the expected text in your own concise description, and where you observed it. A reference to an authoritative public page is more useful than an image collection.

Do not upload card artwork to DM Value and do not send Local Asset Mode files in a support request. The project can investigate identity, text, face classification, and routing issues without receiving a copyrighted asset library.
